The case for Investing in India
A couple of financial observations regarding the largest democracy on the planet
Demographics: Upwards of 65% of the populace are under 35 which means that it could translate to an incredible success (or a demographic disaster, under the wrong set of conditions).
Consumption Patterns: With the rise in disposable and per capita incomes (close to PPP 6000$ now), India will be increasing its fair share of consumption like never before. Think of AC's, Cars, Food courts, Airplanes at a scale of what you've never seen before. Add to that the fact that 24 Million babies are being born every year. (How cool is that ;)
Responsive Governance: I mean this has to be India's time. After Years of corruption, political self aggrandizement coupled with bureaucratic malfeasance, India hasn't really charted its true potential. At least the present government hasn't had that much of a baggage and the world takes PM Modi as a reformer. Only two countries can promise (8-10) % of GDP growth every year for the next decade or two and India is the only democracy of the two.
Evolving Markets: Once dubbed to be the laggard in the beleaguered fragile five economies, India has picked up steam and can boast of a 1.3 Billion people strong market. With the US dabbling in secular stagnation, EU under the veil of a volatile recovery, India in conjunction with China can chart the next great growth story of the World.
